Effective: January 1, 2026
"Aproned" (the app), "we," "us," and "our" refer to the publisher of the Aproned mobile application. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at legal@aproned.app.
Unlike most apps, Aproned has no servers that collect or store user data. Specifically, we do not collect:
We do not run analytics platforms (Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.) and we do not include third-party trackers in the app.
Aproned stores everything you enter — shifts, tips, restaurants, positions, coworkers, goals, schedules, time off, notes, app settings — in a local database on your device. This data:
You can export your data at any time via Settings → Export data, as either a CSV file (shifts only) or a JSON backup (all data). Once exported, that file is yours to share, store, or delete as you see fit. We do not receive a copy.
You can also restore from a previously exported JSON backup, replacing your current data with the backup's contents.
When you download Aproned, Apple or Google handles the distribution. Their privacy practices apply to that download and to any in-app purchases you make. See Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
If you purchase an Aproned Premium subscription, we use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier generated by Aproned and information from Apple or Google about your purchase (product ID, purchase date, expiration date). RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or any data you enter into the app. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
A future version of Aproned may offer optional iCloud sync to keep your data in sync across your Apple devices. If you enable iCloud sync, your Aproned data is stored in your own personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. We do not have access to your iCloud data. iCloud is governed by Apple's privacy practices.
If you enable reminders in Settings, Aproned schedules local notifications on your device. These notifications are generated entirely on-device by your operating system. No notification server is involved, and we do not know whether or when notifications are delivered.
If you enable App lock in Settings, Aproned uses your device's built-in biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode) to unlock the app. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device's operating system. Aproned never sees, stores, or transmits your biometric data.
Aproned is intended for adults and minors of legal working age. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Because we do not collect data from anyone, this is by design.
Because we do not collect, store, or transmit personal data, Aproned has no data transfers to discuss. The local data on your device remains in your jurisdiction. Your rights under laws such as the GDPR (Europe), CCPA (California), and similar regulations — including the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data — are honored because you already hold and control all of it directly.
Your data is stored using your operating system's standard application sandbox. We recommend enabling App lock (Settings → App lock) for an additional layer of protection. As a privacy-first app with no server-side data, the most common categories of data breach (server hacks, leaked databases, stolen credentials) do not apply.
If we update this Privacy Policy, the "Effective" date at the top will change. Material changes will be announced inside the app. Continued use of Aproned after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Questions, concerns, or complaints about this Privacy Policy or your data can be sent to legal@aproned.app. We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.
